Meikleour Hotel Blairgowrie Perthshire
The Meikleour Perth Hotel is owned by Kia and Andrew Mathieson, run on day to day basis by Kia. Andrew has over 30 years in the hotel trade and ex-Chairman on Perthshire Tourist Board. Kia was brought up in hotels, so it can be said that hotels and hotel life is part of her.
What attracted Andrew and Kia to this Perthshire Hotel was that initially it was their much-loved local. They knew the hotel from the customer’s perspective, and when it came up for sale in November 2006 they felt it was too good an opportunity to be missed!
Andrew and Kia decided not to change anything for the first year, as it was running as a successful hotel, this gave them the opportunity to get to understand the hotels operation from the inside first.
One of the first decisions they made was to upgrade all the bathrooms, this has now been completed. They have put their own Mathieson feel and stamp on the Perthshire Fishing hotel. Kia runs front of house, ably assisted by our small friendly team with Andrew doing the background work that is so important for any hotel to function smoothly.
Kia, Andrew & the team are keen that the hotel has a family feel, and are keen to receive guests comments and feed back.
