History of Meikleour Hotel, Perthshire, Scotland
Meikleour Hotel was built in Meikleour, Blairgowrie in 1820 as a Coaching and Posting House, where the Inverness to Edinburgh coaches would change horses and the passengers have refreshments.
It then became one of many Ale Houses in the area before being used by Meikleour Estate as lodge for its fishing and shooting guests
The original Coaching and Posting House buildings still exist and are incorporated in today’s hotel, adding much to its character and charm.
